So, my youngest, who turned three about a month ago has some very cute 2 year old underpants that we can no longer crobar her butt into. Nice, not very worn out Dora the Explorer ones, so obviously no one is going to want used underwear, so I thought it might be kinda fun to cut the character panels off the fronts of them and sew them onto dresses as little pockets.
I've said before that my kids just love to have pockets on their clothes. There are just too many things, small things of great importance that must be stashed about oneself you see. There has to be a place to keep the polly pocket hat while you are rollerskating and a place to hide the last candy corn from your sister and a way to make sure your mum is always accidentally laundering crayons and tissues and small rocks and beads and rubber butterflies and real snails. Urgh, anyway...Here's the wee one in a dress we got for free because it was ripped (easy to fix though) with a little pants-pocket and pants-applique. She likes them. I like them too.
House rule, number four thousand and eighty two: The pants pocket can only be worn by the original owner of the pants.House rule, number four thousand and eighty three: It is not cool to shout out at people in the supermarket "Look at my pants!", even if you are ridiculously excited about their new pantspocketness.

That's so clever!! Love it! Great idea. I'm sure my son will love it when his undies get too small...
Nuttier than squirrel poo but resourceful. ;) Cute idea.
Very good idea...
Oh, how I love this!! Really, you've got a fabulous site! Great simple projects!
Totally great idea.
My little cutie actually has second hand undies I got at consignment. The ones that don't get too much wear, that don't look gross. There are those of us that aren't too squemish to wash the heck out of them and use them.
Great idea - and I love the accompanying house rules!
What a cute project just stumbled over from Dollar Store Crafts and so glad I did. Kids underwear are almost too cute to be worn under clothes, remember Underoos! I once made a purse out of a pair of traning panties.
I will do it for my doughter.. Thanks for Good idea...
I love your site. I discovered it awhile ago but haven't had a chance to read back through. I am in stitches here. I love this idea and I am going to be looking for a big plastic box for the sand too (even though we live 5 mins from the beach...). Oh, and I especially love the name of your blog. Brilliant!
I totally love this idea!
By the way, I thought no one would want used underwear too until I watched a friend of mine sell a whole basket of used undies at her garage sale 3 or 4 at a time over 2 days. Now THAT'S nutty, but you're resourceful!
omg! You are nuttier than squirrel poo! But I love it cuz I am too lol. I have used the pics on the pants to app on a shirt before but never thought of pockets!! Great ideas.
