I made little felt pouches that were the size of the kid's hands, glue gunning the seams and then turning them inside out. Then I just glued on some shapes of other coloured felt and craft foam to make the animals and did the black detailing with a fine line sharpie and a big fat one for the stripes on the tiger's body. Some of the foam shapes we had been given as part of an oriental trading kit that didn't get fully used up at a friend's party, but it would be easy peasy to just cut similar shapes out to make more. The kids always get stupid excited when we stick boggly eyes on anything. Why is that?
The kids really like them, but it's made me realise that I badly need to sort out a puppet theater of some kind, because they were using the window of the rocket ship to put on performances. Very resourceful young lasses!

Hurrah- three fun new projects to read about! I like those puppets! We have some like them that came in a felt puppet lacing kit. The lacing part was all rubbish because it wouldn't hold together properly without pinkies sticking out but the googly eyes - yes, kids like them on everything, don't they? I should've done what you did and glued everything. I sewed. Silly and slow. Am glad you found the pizza post on my family blog. We had so much fun! You are the queen of cardboard, I swear. All those fabulous ideas! Thank you!
So cute! I'm sure you'll come up with a brilliant idea for a puppet theater.
Can you tell I'm loving your blog?
These are so cute! I listed them on my recent post:
